Step Inside Walt Disney World’s “Flavor Lab” Test Kitchen

Before delicious new treats and dishes make it into Walt Disney World’s various restaurants, kiosks, and events they’re dreamt up in the Flavor Lab. The 7,000 square feet facility could be considered culinary equivalent to the company’s famed Imagineering department and sees ideas through from “blue sky” experimentation to testing and, eventually, implementation.

Recently ABC News got a tour inside this area that few guests likely even know exists:

From ABC:

It took three years for the Flavor Lab to come from concept to development. Chefs from the restaurants at Disney Parks around the world, including the soon-to-open Disney Shanghai, are able to collaborate via video conference in the Flavor Lab to share menu ideas and best practices. With 1,040 food and beverage operations the world over, it was necessary to have a state-of-the-art facility in which to come together.

So now you know where all of those classic and creative Disney park treats are first imagined. Are you hungry yet?
