As the 12 Days of Disney Parks Christmas rolls on, the Disney Parks Blog has just shared some new images of the Skylines gondola system coming to Walt Disney World.
First, the blog shared concept art for the Skyliner station that will reside outside of Epcot’s International Gate entrance. Given its neighbors, the station’s design has been informed by European architecture, featuring “metal and glass canopies, hand-painted murals and ornamental steel structures that harken back to the early 18th century Art Nouveau style.” A trip to this station also promises a stellar view of World Showcase.
Next, the Skyliner stop at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort pulls inspiration from open-air marketplaces popular in the Caribbean. Notably, this station will also serve as a transfer point between lines.
Finally, the station at Disney’s Hollywood Studios will look familiar, as it will match the park’s main entrance motif, which itself was inspired by Pan-Pacific Auditorium.
While art was not shared for the station that Disney’s Pop Century Resort and Disney’s Art of Animation will share, the Parks Blog says its design “feels whimsical and contextual” with the resort.
