In celebration of Earth Day and the 21st anniversary of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, today the Disney Parks Blog announced that a new version of the park’s nighttime show Rivers of Light was in the works. Rivers of Light: We Are One is set to debut this summer.
- The updated show will include new scenes featuring imagery from Disneynature along with iconic moments from Disney Animated Classics.
- For example, concept art for the show includes complimentary images from The Lion King and Africans Cats.
- A similar marriage of mediums will also be present in the music for Rivers of Light: We Are One, which “weaves together the original musical score and familiar Disney themes to create a powerful arrangement that inspires and carries us through moments of discovery, fun, friendship, fear, love and family.”
- Rivers of Light: We Are One is set to debut at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Memorial Day Weekend 2019.
- That’s also when new Tree of Life Awakenings featuring scenes from the animated The Lion King are set to premiere.
