It’s the galaxy’s last stand against the First Order… the Disney Channel / Disney XD animated series Star Wars Resistance returns this fall with its second and apparently final season. This morning the official Star Wars Twitter feed and YouTube channel dropped a surprise trailer for this last batch of episodes, which features an appearance by none other than Kylo Ren.
“The Emmy Award-nominated series Star Wars Resistance returns for its second and final season beginning Sunday, October 6 at 10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT on Disney Channel and in DisneyNOW, with subsequent airings on Disney XD. The concluding season takes place during the events of The Last Jedi leading up to The Rise of Skywalker as Kaz and the team continue to fight against the threat of the First Order, culminating in an epic series finale.”

In the first season of Star Wars Resistance, which aired from October 2018 through March of this year, we met Resistance spy Kazuda Xiono (voiced by Christopher Sean of Hawaii Five-0) as he went undercover at an aircraft refueling station called the Colossus on the planet Castilon. He worked under former Rebel Alliance pilot Jarek Yeager (Avatar’s Scott Lawrence) and befriended mechanics Tam Ryvora (Suzie McGrath) and Neeku Vozo (Josh Brener) and Ace Pilot Torra Doza (Myrna Velasco).
At the end of the premiere season, the Colossus transformed from a stationary platform into a giant hyperspace-capable starship, taking all its residents to an unknown destination as they fled the First Order in the wake of the destruction of the Hosnian system. Star Wars Resistance is produced by Lucasfilm Animation and was created by Dave Filoni (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels). It also features comic actors Bobby Moynihan (DuckTales) and Jim Rash (Community) in recurring roles, and has guest-starred Star Wars actors Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie reprising their roles as Poe Dameron and Captain Phasma, respectively.
The second and final season of Star Wars Resistance will premiere Sunday, October 6 on Disney Channel.
