- The Orlando Business Journal has revealed that Disney is in early negotiations with Tavistock Development Co. LLC to build a residential and commercial community in the Lake Nona area of Orlando.
- Tavistock Development Co. LLC is developing a site in Lake Nona, 18-miles from the Walt Disney World Resort that is believed to be the area Disney is talking to the developer about.
- Development plans are in place to develop 4,192 residential units and 2.4 million square feet of nonresidential space in the 17-square-mile Lake Nona community, which could be the area Disney is eyeing.
- If the reported conversations are true, this would be among the farthest real estate developments Disney has been involved in near Walt Disney World, which includes the planned community Celebration, the mixed-use Flamingo Crossings, and the on-property residential community Golden Oak Ranch.
