As we get closer to the debut of the highly-anticipated film, Cruella, one theater that will be showing the feature is showcasing new displays drawing fans to the big screen for the new movie.
What’s Happening:
- Cruella is set to release this coming Friday, May 28th, on both Disney+ as part of the Premier Access program and theatrically where available.
- One theater that is ready to roll those projectors with the new villain origin story is the AMC at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida and the theater has pulled out all the stops with new displays celebrating the new feature.
- While the film still has yet to debut, we can tell some aspects of these displays come straight from a scene in the film (that we know from the trailer) where Cruella and different words are projected onto the side of a building. This aesthetic seems to be carried over into the doorways of the cinema, and even projected onto the exterior wall.
- Cruella, which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella (Emma Stone), a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs. She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets. One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, played by Emma Thompson. But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.
- She’s fashionable. She’s fierce. She’s the Queen of Mean, darling! The fashions are set to arguably steal the show, and is a theme carried over into the window displays featuring sketchbooks and a costume display.
- Cruella is set to debut this Friday, May 28th, in theaters where available (like the AMC Disney Springs) and on Disney+ Premier Access.
