Disney Cruise Line has issued an update, revealing a temporary final payment extension the begins today, and relaxing their cruise cancellation fees schedule.
What’s Happening:
- Beginning today, June 29, 2021, a temporary final payment extension was added to Disney Cruise Line sailings through Dec. 31, 2021. Disney is also temporarily relaxing their cruise cancellation fee schedule for sailings through Dec. 31, 2021.
- These temporary changes are in addition to the Cruise Date Flexibility Option that already allows Guests the flexibility to change their sail date up to 15 days prior to departure for any cruise booked by July 31, 2021, for scheduled sailings on or before December 31, 2021.
- This temporary Cruise Date Flexibility is valid for new and existing reservations booked prior to July 31, 2021, and allows Guests to change their departure up to 15 days before their sailing for any cruise departing through December 31, 2021. Guests that wish to change their sail date must move to a future sailing that commences on or before September 30, 2022. Prevailing rates apply and Guests are responsible for any balance due after the reservation has been modified. Guests are unable to return to their original sail date once the reservation has been changed. Should you cancel your new sail date, any cancellation fees applicable to the original sail date will be deferred and applied as a minimum cancellation fee to the future sailing. Standard air cancellation fees apply for Guests who booked flights through Disney Cruise Line.

All of us at Disney Cruise Line hope you and your family are staying well. We want to let you know we’ve temporarily modified our final payment and cancellation policies to provide you with greater flexibility.
For sailings through December 31, 2021, we are temporarily extending final payment until 60 days prior to sailing for Guests booked in unrestricted stateroom categories. This means that those Guests who have not yet reached their final payment due date can wait until up to 60 days prior to sailing to pay for their cruise vacation. Onboard cruise activities can be scheduled within your Castaway Club booking window once final payment is received.
In addition, we are temporarily relaxing our cruise cancellation fee schedule for sailings through December 31, 2021, as described below.

These temporary changes are in addition to our Cruise Date Flexibility* Option that already allows Guests the flexibility to change their sail date up to 15 days prior to departure for any cruise booked by July 31, 2021, for scheduled sailings on or before December 31, 2021. - This news also comes on the heels of the announcement that simulated sails of the Disney Dream from Port Canaveral have been delayed due to inconsistent COVID-19 results. The cruises would have departed today, 6/29 for a two night simulated sailing. This simulated sailing must be completed before the CDC can issue a conditional sailing certificate, allowing cruises to resume.
