WDW 50 – Disney Magic Makers Recognizes Nate Rhodes

As part of the Walt Disney World 50th anniversary celebration, The Walt Disney Company announced Disney Magic Makers, a search for 50 individuals who are making a difference in their communities. As part of the celebration, Disney honored Aulani Cast Member Nate Rhodes.

What’s Happening:

  • Nate Rhodes, a banquet and events services director at Aulani, A Disney Resort and Spa, was recognized by Josh D’Amaro, chairman, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products for being a Magic Maker and making a difference in his community on the Hawaiian Island of Oahu.
  • Nate has volunteered with the Boys and Girls Club Hale Pono Clubhouse in ‘Ewa Beach, Hawai’i, and is currently an active board member helping with various efforts.
  • During the pandemic, Nate helped the club with daily meal distribution for member families and got a few Aulani Cast Members to join him in volunteering as a group. Nate has also organized the club’s largest fundraiser of the year, an annual golf tournament.

About Disney Magic Makers:

  • Disney Magic Makers was announced as part of Walt Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration, honoring 50 individuals around the United States for making a positive impact on their community with a trip to the Walt Disney World Resort and a one-year subscription to Disney+.
  • From now through October 1, 2021, any U.S. resident over 18 can nominate a person who inspires them for “Disney Magic Makers.”
  • Nominations can be made by visiting DisneyMagicMakers.com. Disney is encouraging others to celebrate their hometown heroes with social media posts using #DisneyMagicMakers on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or TikTok.
  • Disney will also be donating a total of $400,000 to four non-profits: Make-A-Wish, Starlight Children’s Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of America, and The Nature Conservancy. Each showed innovative ways to continue serving their communities during the pandemic.
