From special parties to full-on holiday overlays the Disneyland Resort transforms throughout the year bringing joy and magic to every season.
Disney California Adventure Food and Wine Festival — March 2 to April 12, 2018
Delight the senses during this fun festival with delicious treats and tasty beverages. Celebrated Disney chefs will feature ethnically inspired dishes as well as highlight the incredible culinary offerings of the Golden State. Guests will be able to purchase samples of these delicious treats at themed food kiosks throughout the park. This festival also features seminars, tastings, dinners, and demonstrations hosted by industry experts, and celebrity and Disney chefs. Kids can get in on the fun too at a Jr. Chef “cooking” class where they’ll mix together ingredients and end up with a special treat. Select events are separate from general park admission and may require advanced reservations.
Pixar Fest — April 13 to September 3, 2018
Get ready for a Pixar take over of Disneyland Resort as they celebrate friendship and more! Favorite characters return to both parks will special events, shows, parades, and exclusive merchandise. At Disneyland, guests will experience a new Nighttime Spectacular – Together Forever highlighting the unique friendships that develop in classic Pixar films. This projection show takes place at Sleeping Beauty Castle, the water screens on the Rivers of America, it’s a small world, and the Main Street U.S.A. buildings. It’s even been rumored that Buzz Lightyear will fly over Sleeping Beauty Castle! Disneyland will also see the debut of the Pixar Play Parade featuring characters from Up and Inside Out. Taking place across the esplanade at Disney California Adventure is The Pixar Shorts film festival. Guests can view such favorites as For the Birds and Lava at the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land. Other special treats throughout the park include a Pixar themed music group, a Pixar meet and greet, and crafts and events for young guests. After the sun sets, enjoy the Paint the Night Parade as it makes its return to Disneyland Resort. Favorite characters from Toy Story, Cars, Monsters Inc. and more will make their way through the park in this fun-filled evening spectacle.
Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort — September 2018
Spooky fun awaits all visiting during the fall. Disneyland transforms with special spirited decorations and attraction overlays. Enjoy Haunted Mansion Holiday where Jack Skellington sets to work putting his festive spin on this ghoulish attraction. Brave Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy where a phantom force takes over the ride giving eerie a whole new meaning. For something a little less frightening, guests can enjoy Main Street’s Pumpkin Festival or meet their favorite characters in rare Halloween costumes. If that’s not enough a fun-filled night of tricks and treats awaits guests at Mickey’s Halloween Party, an exclusive event the whole family will love. Disney Calfornia Adventure has its own share of Halloween fun, with fiendish decorations throughout the park to the holiday take over of attractions. Join Rocket and the gang at Guardians of the Galaxy Monsters After Dark, visit Mater as he hosts a Graveyard JamBOOree, scream with delight with Luigi’s Haul-O-Ween, and be sure to get pictures of the Cars Land Cars decked out in costumes.
Mickey’s Halloween Party — September – October 2018
Mickey Mouse invites guests to join him in Disneyland as he hosts the ultimate Halloween party! The whole family will have a great time trick-or-treating throughout the park, meeting favorite characters, watching a spooky parade, and viewing a special fireworks show. Halloween parties are open to guests of all ages but require a separate ticket for the event beyond general park admission. Tickets for the party only can be purchased. Costumes are encouraged but must follow Disneyland guidelines.
Holidays at Disneyland Resort — November 2018 to January 2019
Celebrate the festive winter holidays at the Happiest Place on Earth. Disneyland Resort revels in a truly jolly spirit with its creative and colorful overlays during this season. From Main Street U.S.A. to every magical land, Christmas trees, lights, and wreaths are all part of the holiday decorations guests will enjoy in the park; and at night guests will witness the breathtaking Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle as it glows with lights. Favorite attractions take on a new look when Jack Skellington decorates the Haunted Mansion; and the children of “it’s a small world” spread their merry cheer throughout the ride and facade with lights, wreaths and more. During the day guests will enjoy A Christmas Fantasy Parade, and at night the sky lights up with Believe…In Holiday Magic fireworks display that will fill all viewers with awe and wonder. Over at Disney California Adventure, Cars Land enjoys a festive extravaganza too. Mater’s Junkyard becomes a Jingle Jamboree, and Luigi and family wish guests Joy to the Whirl! Guests will also enjoy the Festival of the Holidays where they can sample delicious dishes sold throughout the park, visit with special characters, and enjoy cultural music, street parties, and other surprises during this immersive experience that the whole family will love.
Lunar New Year Celebration — January 26 to February 18, 2018
Join Disney California Adventure in spreading good fortune during the celebration of the Lunar New Year. Mulan and Mushu will lead a parade filled with traditional music, costumes, and dancing. See favorite characters wearing traditional costumes inspired by ethnic cultures, stop by food kiosks selling samples of exotic cuisines, walk under beautiful hanging lanterns, and visit the Lucky Wishing Wall for more surprises. Guests can also enjoy a special nighttime show at Paradise Pier telling the tale of a lost lantern trying to make its way home. Lunar New Year is included with park admission to Disney California Adventure.
Disneyland After Dark — January 18, 2018
This ongoing themed series kicks off its first event in January with a special Throwback Nite. After the park closes, the fun begins as Disneyland transforms into the glory of its early days. From 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. guests will enjoy the magic of the 50’s and 60’s with live music, dancing, special photo spots, exclusive merchandise, character meet and greets, culinary delights, a viewing of the early era “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks show, and more! Guests are encouraged to get into the spirit of the evening by dressing in their best classic attire and costumes. Those attending will also receive a commemorative lanyard and vintage park map as special souvenirs. Tickets are $95 per person ages 3 and older.
