Photos: Pixar's "Cars" Celebrates 20th Anniversary with Special Outdoor Screening at L.A.'s Autry Museum

Last weekend we attended the 20th anniversary outdoor screening of Pixar's Cars (2006) presented by D23 and Street Food Cinema at the Autry Museum of the American West in Los Angeles, California. Below are my photos and a brief video from the event.

First up, here's a one-minute vertical video of the Cars characters photo op, the food trucks parked in a row nearby and the screen setup in the background on the open field adjacent to the museum.

Arriving at the Autry Museum earlier that evening, we found tents set up for D23 and Street Food Cinema, as an appropriately car-themed billboard on the side of the building promoted the museum's current "Life, Liberty, and Los Angeles" exhibition.

Tow Mater and Lightning McQueen were parked next to the field for photo ops with attendees. These were the traveling versions of the characters, not the Disney Parks versions, so they didn't talk. In the below photos you can also see the lineup of food trucks and folks finding their spots in front of the inflatable screen.

Upon entry, attendees were distributed swag including a Cars 20th anniversary patch and Disney+ Hulu Throwbacks mystery pins.

Additional photos below show off more Street Food Cinema tents next to the museum and different angles of the screen setup.

A Disney and Cars-themed slideshow played on the screen prior to the beginning of the movie, and the preshow consisted of a raffle giveaway of Cars vinyl soundtracks from the Disney Music Emporium and a special bonus prize from the Autry Museum.
