Food, Wine, and A Good Cause: WDW Swan & Dolphin Donates Event Proceeds to Wounded Warrior Project

This is the second year in a row that the foundation has been named as the beneficiary of the event.

The Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin Food & Wine Classic, a favorite event that takes place at the resort, has named the Wounded Warrior Project as their charitable beneficiary once again.

What’s Happening:

  • In recognition of National Veterans and Military Families Month, the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin raised $15,000 for Wounded Warrior Project, as part of its 16th annual Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic.
  • This is the second year in a row the event has partnered with Wounded Warrior Project, which supports military veterans.
  • Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Area General Manager Sean Verney presented the check during the closing of the two-night event to Wounded Warrior Project Community Fundraising Manager Savannah Simmons and veteran Sharona Young, a Wounded Warrior Project program beneficiary.
  • The popular event took place over the last weekend, welcoming guests on November 14th and 15th.
  • The donation consisted of proceeds from the event and is part of the property’s ongoing mission to give back to the community.
  • Founded in 2003, Wounded Warrior Project, headquartered in Jacksonville, Florida, helps veterans who served in the military on or after Sept. 11, 2001, and incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound during or after service. The nonprofit’s free programs and services include mental health, career counseling, and long-term rehabilitative care.

The Event:

  • The Swan and Dolphin Food & Wine Classic offers guests unlimited tastings in a street party atmosphere, featuring culinary and beverage selections from the hotel’s award-winning restaurants amidst a festive backdrop of live entertainment on the hotel’s scenic causeway.
  • Dotted throughout the space in between the Walt Disney World Swan & Dolphin and approaching the Walt Disney World Swan Reserve, the annual event features seemingly countless options to enjoy in the evening hours on each event night, all included with the event ticket.
  • The culinary event is largely regarded as one of the best events of the year, citing its value for what you get when in attendance.
