Fans and filmmakers gathered at EL Capitan Theatre last night for the red carpet premiere of Disney•Pixar’s Incredibles 2. Prior to the show, Oh My Disney was there live streaming the event and interviewing the talented voice cast, director, and producers. Incredibles 2 is a direct sequel to 2004’s The Incredibles and both films were written and directed by Brad Bird.
While critic reviews (including ours) won’t be published until just before the film’s official release date, those who were lucky enough to attend the premiere and other preview screenings shared their reactions on social media. So how was the film? We’ve pulled some of the best Tweets to give you a quick round up:
First, our own Jeremiah got a chance to see the film and had this to say:
Incredibles 2 changed Scott Mendelson’s mind about needing a sequel:
I spent 14 years arguing that the world didn’t need an #Incredibles2 . After tonight, I would welcome an INCREDIBLES 3 with open arms.

Kristian Harloff had a great time at the premiere:
Man #Incredibles2 was fantastic! It was fast paced, full of laughs, action, emotion and a kick ass story. I really liked the first one, I LOVED this one.

Skyler Shuler sounds impressed after the screening:
INCREDIBLES 2 is easily Pixar’s best sequel since TOY STORY 3.
Pixar did a fantastic job taking the qualities of the Parr family from the first film and building upon that in this film.
Heads up, Jack Jack steals this whole movie. #Incredibles2

Perri Nemiroff really enjoyed Giacchino’s score for the film:
#Incredibles2 is such a friggin delight! Family dynamic is brilliant yet again but WOW is Jack Jack a scene stealer. And that score! More A+ work from Michael Giacchino that I’m gonna need to own.
— Perri Nemiroff (@PNemiroff) June 6, 2018
According to Matt Singer, Incredibles 2 is more than a movie about super heroes. It works as a documentary as well:
I watched #Incredibles2 yesterday and I would like to personally thank the men and women of Pixar for making one of the best documentaries about parenthood I have ever seen.

Lÿndsay commented on the film as a whole finding beauty in the details:
#Incredibles2 was SO good. Every detail was perfect.. every expression to super powers to story line. & the human qualities in the mannerisms in the characters alone were the most life like I’ve seen in a movie. Loved! pic.twitter.com/yJJwxtLBpb

Harris Dang also commented on the score and Jack-Jack’s role in the film:
THE INCREDIBLES 2 is funnier than the original (if not as emotionally stirring) and has more creative action (though none of it equals the airplane sequence) without sacrificing the crucial family dynamic. Top Giacchino score and Jack-Jack is a scene-stealer. #Incredibles2 pic.twitter.com/A3a3y5oPxK

Jacki Jing was excited after her viewing. She’s positive that fans are going to enjoy the film too:
Got out of #Incredibles2 OMG! Somehow better than the original. Jack Jack is unreal funny!! Great to see the whole family & Frozone together again! When I talk to the director and cast tomorrow I’m going to ask them when Incredibles 3 is coming out!!!! Y’all are gonna ❤️ this! pic.twitter.com/9FJKfEcj23

Amy Ratcliffe wasn’t completely blown away, but nonetheless, had a good time:
Just saw #Incredibles2! Not the most surprising story ever, but the journey is a blast, with charming and silly moments. And the visuals and the Giacchino score are… incredible.

Giacchino’s score is one that’s sticking with the audience, and clearly Steven Weintraub is a fan:

Germain Lussier calls it, “Another Pixar winner”:
Incredibles 2 is excellent. Super funny, super smart, & the action is bigger and better than before. It shares some narrative DNA with the first film but it works nonetheless. Another Pixar winner. pic.twitter.com/RnB1DIIPsv
