Earlier today, Disney announced that It’s Tough to be a Bug! would close forever on March 17th. To make way for their new Zootopia experience, the Tree of Life Theater will remain closed until Winter 2025. Let’s take a detailed look at the queue for the attraction prior to its closure.
What’s Happening:
- For nearly 27 years, Disney’s Animal Kingdom has invited guests to shrink down to the size of ants to experience their A Bug’s Life themed attraction It’s Tough to be a Bug!
- Dubbed “A Creepy Crawly Bug-Eyed Adventure,” the 3D theater experience is housed inside the park’s iconic Tree of Life.
- A huge part of the attraction’s immersion came from the queue. As guests traversed farther and farther into the Tree of Life, the size and scale of the tree trunks and rock work became bigger, giving guests the illusion that they were the same size as character’s like Flik, Dot, and Heimlich.
- The queue also gives guests a chance to check out the highly detailed Tree of Life up close. While at a quick glance, the Animal Kingdom icon appears to be just a giant tree. However, over 300 animals are featured in the intricately carved man-made structure.
- Of course, the attraction’s storyline revolves around an “Off-Bugway” show. To welcome guests into the musical experience, pun-filled posters representing previous bug infested productions adorn the walls of the immersive experience.
- With the attraction set to host its final performance on March 17th, let’s take a look around the queue before It’s Tough to be a Bug! flies away forever.
