Disney has reportedly tapped Moana producer Osnat Shurer and Crazy Rich Asians screenwriter Adele Lim for a yet-untitled animated fantasy-adventure currently in production, according to Deadline.
- Shurer served as the producer of Disney’s 2016 smash hit Moana and previously served as the head of Pixar’s short films output.
- Lim cowrote the screenplay for the 2018 romanic comedy Crazy Rich Asians.
- Disney story artists Paul Briggs and Dean Wellins are set to make their directorial debuts for this new animated film.
- Briggs served as a story artist on Zootopia and Tangled and as head of story on Big Hero 6 and Frozen.
- Wellins served as a story artist on Zootopia, Big Hero 6 and Tangled.
- The new film will reportedly see a theatrical release as opposed to being made for the new Disney streaming service.
- Details about the plot for the new feature have not yet been released.
