A special edition of ABC’s 20/20 will feature an inside look at Disney’s upcoming feature “Mary Poppins Returns” ahead of its December release.
- The special will be titled “Mary Poppins Returns: Behind the Magic – A Special Edition of 20/20” and will air Thursday, November 22 on ABC.
- ABC News’ Chris Connelly will conduct the first prime-time television interviews with the stars of the sequel, Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
- The special will also feature an exclusive one-on-one conversation between Van Dyke and Miranda on “Mary Poppins Returns”
- The hour-long feature will also include interviews with:
- Director Rob Marshall
- Composer Marc Shaiman
- Lyricist Scott Wittman
- Pixie Davies and Joel Dawson, actors who play the Banks children
- Costume designer Sandy Powell
- Character designer James Woods
- Animator James Baxter
- Karen Dotrice, the actress who played Jane Banks in the original Mary Poppins
- Jeff Kurtti, Disney historian and author
- Disney’s “Mary Poppins Returns” hits theaters Dec. 19, 2018.
