Amy Sedaris Joins Cast of Jon Favreau’s “The Lion King”

Last Thursday, Disney fans were thankful to get a first look at director Jon Favreau’s The Lion King. Now there’s even more reason to be excited as Amy Sedaris has reportedly joined the cast of the highly anticipated film.

  • According to Variety, Amy Sedaris (Strangers with CandyBojack Horseman) will voice a new character not featured in the 1994 animated film.
  • Sedaris will apparently portray an elephant shrew — a small mammal that gets its large name from its long nose.
  • As mentioned, the first teaser for the “live action” The Lion King made a big splash last week, accruing the second most views in a 24 hour period behind only Avengers: Infinity War.
  • Sedaris joins an already impressive cast that features Donald Glover, Beyonce, the return of James Earl Jones, and many more.
  • Disney’s The Lion King will roar into theatres July 19, 2019.
