Earlier today, when the Disney Parks Blog announced some of the attraction and entertainment coming to the Disneyland Resort this Halloween Time, fans noted one omission: Space Mountain Ghost Galaxy. Now it’s been confirmed that the popular overlay will not be returning for this year’s festivities.
- Although overlays such as Haunted Mansion Holiday, Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, and Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark will return for Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort this September, the Space Mountain overlay Ghost Galaxy will not be joining them.
- The creepy version of the classic coaster originally debuted at the Disneyland Resort in 2009 (after first premiering at Hong Kong Disneyland in 2007) and has been a fixture of the resort’s Halloween celebrations every year since.
- At this time, it’s unclear if the overlay is merely taking a hiatus and could return in the future or not.
- However, despite the absense of Ghost Galaxy, the Disneyland Resort does have plenty of other offerings in store for this fall.
- Among the returning favorites are Plaza de la Familia celebration held at Disney California Adventure Park and the Halloween Screams nighttime show, which will now be available to day guests for the first time in a decade.
- Additionally, this year will mark the debut of Oogie Boogie Bash, which will take place at Disney California Adventure park.
- Halloween Time at the Disneyland Resort will run from September 6 through October 31.
