Walt Disney World Cast Set To March Against COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate

Fox 35 Orlando has reported that Walt Disney World Cast Members are planning to march against the company’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate on Friday with a similar protest happening in Anaheim, California.

What’s Happening:

  • Fox 35 Orlando has reported that Walt Disney World Cast Members will protest The Walt Disney Company’s requirement for all employees to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
  • A similar protest is also scheduled on Friday in Anaheim, California, the home of the Disneyland Resort.
  • The current deadline is set for Saturday in which Cast Members will need to have at least one dose of the vaccine.
  • The Walt Disney World Cast Member march begins today at 2:00 pm at 12151 S. Apopka Vineland Rd. with Cast Members walking up and down Lake Buena Vista Boulevard.
  • Back in July, The Walt Disney Company sent a notice to salaried and non-union hourly employees and Cast Members in the U.S. stating that they are required to be fully vaccinated 60 days from the date.
  • In August, The Services Trade Council Union, Local 362 reached an agreement with Walt Disney World requiring all represented employees to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination by October 22nd, 2021.
  • A statement released stated that “Cast Members who do not comply with the vaccine requirement and do not request a legitimate accommodation will be separated from the company.”
  • As part of the agreement, employees with medical conditions or religious beliefs will be eligible to apply for exemption.
