Bloomingdales Opens new Pop-Up Shop Based on “The Lion King”

Disney’s live-action remake of The Lion King will roar into theaters soon but its circle of life has already expanded to Bloomingdales’ new pop-up shop Style Kingdom, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

  • Style Kingdom is Bloomingdales’ latest rendition of its pop-up shop The Carousel and it will be open through September 2 in all location in Century City, San Francisco and New York.
  • The pop-up offers clothing, home goods and kids' apparel and has been curated by actress Florence Kasumba, who voices Shenzi the hyena in the upcoming live-action remake.
  • Style Kingdom is a result of an official partnership between Bloomingdales and Disney, the first collaboration between The Carousel and a studio film.

What they’re saying:

  • Kasumba: "[It's] an absolute thrill because I've been able to combine my love of fashion and film whilst connecting back to my African heritage. I love how The Lion King can be interpreted through this new lens and connect with audiences in a unique and fresh way. I felt such a personal connection to the pieces I curated and I can't wait for people to see the collections, and the movie!"
