Photos: Tortuga Tavern Remains Closed at Magic Kingdom

The location has been unavailable since last summer.

Tortuga Tavern, a quick service restaurant in Adventureland, continues to be closed and blocked off after its intended reopening on January 1st.

What’s Happening:

  • Tortuga Tavern at Magic Kingdom remains closed after it failed to reopen as scheduled earlier this year.
  • The quick service restaurant, which operates seasonally, has been closed since June of 2024.
  • According to the Walt Disney World app, Tortuga Tavern had scheduled hours beginning on January 1st.
  • When the restaurant failed to open, all operating hours were removed from the app. Currently, the operating hours are released through April 2nd, and there are no times listed for the American-style eatery.
  • While guests are able to walk near the ordering kiosks, large planters surround the restaurant's seating area preventing anyone from entering.

  • The large planters extend out into the front of the restaurant, surrounding any clear view or access to the area.

  • While the restaurant remains closed, it does not appear that any work is being done in the area. It’s a shame to see such a large seating space blocked off for guests needing a break from a busy day at the Magic Kingdom.

  •  Tortuga Tavern has been unavailable since the beginning of the busy summer season. While the restaurant did not serve food, it was temporarily transformed into Tortuga Treasures while the main gift shop for Pirates of the Caribbean was closed for refurbishment.
  • Hopefully we will see Tortuga Tavern serving up Orange Chicken Strips and Pulled Pork Sandwiches in the near future.
